Hey everyone i did message this on facebook but i’m also putting this up on here for everyone to see.
Some of us namely me, kyle and rob who were there this weekend, have been planning on going up next weekend which is 3rd september most of you are back in school that day but i know kyle and rob are on about comming up after school, we are going to be there until sunday, just please remember to bring your own gas or at least money to buy some, you need to arrange where you are sleeping and all your food and stuff so that no-one is without food or anything they need because this is another chance to show the leaders that we are able to survive on our own.
And just to remind everyone caws mawr explorers have been invited to camp with loughor scouts in Pembrey, it is on the 10th of september (weekend after next), its £40, you need to arrange your own way of getting there like we did when we went with Gorseinon scouts the other week, bring your own tents and remember to bring clothes suitable to be used on the ski slope as skiing has been booked, if there is any other information you need and to arrange how exactly we are all paying contact any of the following leaders, Alex, Helen, Dai and Jon.
Also while i am writing this i would like to thank all the silver cross service team for putting up with us lot most of the summer (the ones that went up anyhow), and also thanks for such a great night on sunday and for the take away, we all really enjoyed it and cant wait till next year, whenever we are up there we do enjoy spending time with all the staff as well and are enjoying the freedom we have while we are up there, once again thanks from us all.

Hey guys we all need to plan things we can do as fundraiser and we need to plan things we would like to do as meetings when we go back in September because if we don’t the leaders will and we might not enjoy what we are doing,we also need to remember that we are a unit so we need to make sure anything we do does not upset any other explorer, the leaders or service staff up silver cross, this week a few of us upset site staff and leaders by leaving the place a mess and disturbing other scout groups camping on the field. If anyone uses the cookers in the shed they must clean up after themselves and if it not their cooker either buy their own gas for it or pay for the gas they use, we cant all borrow gas and not pay back for it.When we are up silver cross we must remember to follow the rules we are given and in the shed is a list of jobs to do and after you do a job remember to cross it off the list otherwise others might re-do the jobsmany thanks, (btw not trying to be bossy just stuff some of us got told up silver last night)
Anyone up silvercross this week?
Yesterday I made some improvements to the site! The changes include:
- The ability to private message each other on the site
- I updated to WordPress 3.01 (much to kyle’s joy)
- I updated the Plugins that required an update
- I installed a contact form plugin which allows us to create contact forms for certain pages of the site, I have placed one on the Want to join page and a different one on the contact us! If a user uses the contact form it will send all the information directly to cawsmawresu@gmail.com
I welcome any improvement suggestions and any plugins that people would think are handy
Happy days!
Anyone going to start the blog? You’ve been up the site for the best part of three weeks, i’m sure you’ve got something to say!!
Uniform order forms are now available on here – either send the form with a cheque to the address on the form or hand to a leader (please put in an envelope anyway so it doesn’t all get lost!!) I will speak to her about neckers ASAP.
Please keep counts of how many nights you are spending camping at Silver Cross as these are needed for your Nights Away badges, your Camping Skills Badge AND your Chief Scouts Platinum Award should you want them!!
Thanks
The next explorer meeting/event will be on Saturday at Silver Cross. There is some work to do during the day and then you will be doing some Air Rifle Shooting. Please make sure that you bring a signed Shooting consent form (you can print one off the forms page on here now). You will not be allowed to shoot without one.
You can arrive whatever time you want on Saturday – bring a packed lunch and £3 subs.
If you want to stay the night please bring something to cook/eat for your evening meal and breakfast/lunch on Sunday, as well as tent/clothes etc…..
Also, a big thanks to those Explorers who have been helping the service team out this week – I know they are all very grateful. Those who have been at the site have had the opportunity to do some climbing and abseiling as well as some archery.
There will be Explorers on site again from Wednesday so I you want to join them contact each other on Facebook.
Douglas scouts also use wordpress to create their website so if anyone needs any ideas or inspiration, please visit their website. (the link is at the bottom of this page)
